Auto responder with a membership site

The use of autoresponders on websites is really nothing new, and if you have an 'away' message on your email account, you have an autoresponder. Even know that allot of people say it's impersonal to have an autoresponder, and in a way it is but letting your customer know that you have recieved there message is a great way to interact with them and give them peace of mind.

Because we live in a digital age, allot of people know not to expect a personal message back from the company, business, or site instantly, and a autoresponder allow you to show that you recieved there message and you will be getting back to them with a personal message. Of course if your a blog owner, the last thing that you want is to sit in front of your computer 24/7 and respond to messages. In the new world autoresponders are a nice way of saying we got your message and we will be getting back to you as soon as possible.

Allot of sites only need a message system attached to a autoresponder on one page of there site. Of course adding additional places where the customer can easily access the message board is great but make sure that you never over do this, one it will create additional work for yourself and your customers will get fuastrated. If your a membership site and you run word press them you need to have a autoresponder.

Why do you want this? well this allows you to not only send a message to the visitor, thanking them but also allows you to advertise different products and services depending on what they commented on. If that visitor decides to sign up for a mailing list or wants to be informed when new comments or responses to their comments are added, another autoresponder will be needed.

Of course you want a seperate auto responder that will be for the newsletter or free give away that you can send great content to. Some people like auto responders with double opt-in and some prefer single, so what is the difference? well double opt-in makes the user opt-in then go to there email account and comfirm the email address while the single opt-in doesn't. Because, your auto responder normally offers a free give away or give in order for the visitor to hand over there email address, you will need to make sure this is the first point of attack then trying to get additional customers.

As the visitor progresses through your web site and leaves their footprints, if the visit requires a response, an autoresponder will be needed. Make sure that everything that you do with the autoresponder is for a purpose, and not just because you can or it's cool. Once a customer signs up for your autoresponder can send them to any page that you like this is a great and handy feature.

Of course if you have a fresh customer you need to tank them for joining and then give them the informaiton they want. If they choose not to join, a message that thanks them for their time may be in order or you might try to lure them to another of your sites to gauge their interest. Make sure if a customer says no they mean no, but of course things change over time so make sure that you always give 80% great content and 20% sell.
